My first real European multi-city trip. Paris first — Le Grand Hotel de Normandie, then the Eiffel Rive Gauche. The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Montmartre. I bought a St. Christopher medallion at Notre-Dame that I’ve carried in my backpack on every trip since.
London was next — the London Eye, the Astons Apartments. I walked everywhere. Then Dublin to close it out, a city that felt immediately familiar in a way Paris and London didn’t. Something about the pubs and the people.
This was the trip that proved Amsterdam wasn’t a fluke. I wasn’t just someone who went on a trip once. I was someone who traveled.
